The Minister of the Interior,
Guillermo Francos
, came out to clarify the harsh words of President Javier Milei against the governors whom he accused of not “playing fair” and of trying to unleash hyperinflation when they questioned the Omnibus law.
The official maintained that the president was referring to the rejection of the project in Congress, after supposed agreements to address the issue and that finally ended with the withdrawal of the text by the Executive.
"I
have continued talking
with the governors throughout this time, we have had meetings and
we have been moving forward
," he stated in dialogue with radio Rivadavia.
On Thursday, Francos will hold a second meeting with all the provincial leaders, to seek the necessary consensus for the sanction of the Bases Law in Parliament, in view of the presidential call for the so-called May Pact.
The minister pointed out that there are some issues such as the allocation of resources for infrastructure works to the provinces, which will be a matter of debate.
"Sometimes the news is confused and generates this type of reaction, but the meetings have continued, we continue with issues and the Bases Law will be discussed in Congress towards the end of this month," he stated.
