PIETRASANTA (LUCCA) - Lorenzo Quinn's giant 'Building Bridges' hands, after the Veneto with the Arsenale Nord of Venice and the Gargano of Vieste, have arrived in Tonfano, in Marina di Pietrasanta (Lucca).
It is a monumental work created with six pairs of hands, 15 meters high, which join together to create bridges.
Each pair of hands celebrates six universal values of humanity: wisdom, hope, love, help, faith, friendship. 'Building Bridges - Costruendo Ponti', can be admired in Piazza XXIV Maggio, on the Tonfano seafront.
Quinn, the well-known sculptor and son of the famous actor Anthony Quinn, presented this monumental work for the first time at the Venice Biennale in 2019, a statement explains.
'Building Bridges' follows 'Support', the sculpture presented by Quinn in 2017 which represented two hands emerging from the water "supporting" a building near the Ca' d'Oro, on the Grand Canal. The image was chosen by the artist to send an explicit message in relation to the threat of climate change.
