Two sailing boats collided on Lake Kochel on Easter Sunday. The three people on board were lucky in misfortune: they were able to save themselves from the cold water to the shore.

– Stormy weather prevailed at Kochelsee on Easter Sunday. At 1:41 p.m. the alarm bells rang at the fire department and water rescue service. The Oberland integrated control center reported a water emergency. Two sailing boats collided on Lake Kochel.
Alarm at Kochelsee: Apparently two people are floating in the cold water
Initially it was said that two people were still floating in the cold water, reports the Kochler fire department on their Facebook page. When emergency services arrived, no one could be found in the water. All three water sports enthusiasts were able to escape to the shore.
Kochel fire brigade tows capsized boat to shore
The fire department took over the rescue of the capsized boat and brought it to the shore. After an hour, the fire department was able to return to the firehouse. 29 people from the Kochler fire department, the Kochel and Bad Tölz water stations as well as the rescue service and police were on duty.
