The body of a woman missing for seven years was found Sunday afternoon in the trunk of a vehicle in Nanterre, a Paris suburb, the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture told AFP on Monday, confirming information from the newspaper
Le Parisien
. At the time of the disappearance, the husband of this woman, who had raised the alarm, had indicated that his partner had suicidal tendencies, said the prefecture.
The body, in an advanced state of decomposition, was discovered during searches in a car which had been impounded for about a month and was due to be destroyed. This Renault Clio vehicle had been stored following a parking problem, indicated a police source.
Previously, this same car had remained parked in the same place, in an underground car park, for several years. The body was transported to the Garches Forensic Institute (Hauts-de-Seine) for autopsy.
