On Sunday evening, a new “Dream Ship” film competed against a “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” special edition – both ZDF and RTL got top ratings, but one station won in the end.

Hürth – For Easter Sunday (March 31st), the TV stations once again came up with a spectacular television program. After a long break, ZDF showed a new “Dream Ship” film with hit icon Florian Silbereisen (42) and competitor RTL decided on an Easter special of their popular quiz show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” with presenter Günther Jauch (67). Both attracted a lot of viewers, but who ultimately won the ratings battle?

Of the total audience (three years and older), 4.96 million people tuned in to the public broadcaster to follow the new “Dream Ship” film with Captain Max Parger (played by Florian Silbereisen). This resulted in a market share of 20.6 percent for ZDF. This means that the station emerges as the winner in the ratings battle - but RTL didn't do badly with its Easter special on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" The Cologne private broadcaster was able to attract 3.23 million viewers and thus captured 15.7 percent of the market share.

ARD showed “Tatort” repeats on Easter Sunday

The latest ZDF “Dream Ship” episode was also able to prevail against the “Tatort” film “Schattenleben” - but ARD still achieved very good ratings for a repeat and came in second place behind Florian Silbereisen (among the overall audience aged three and over). . 4.53 million viewers tuned in and ARD enjoyed 18.8 percent of the market share. Among the younger audience (14 to 49 year olds), 0.51 million people watched (11.2 percent of the market share).

Florian Silbereisen’s new “Dream Ship” film took first place in both categories

The “dream ship” also scored points with the younger audience (14 to 49 year olds) and catapulted itself to first place on the list of numbers. 0.78 million people followed the Thailand adventure and ZDF gained 17.0 percent of the market share. However, Günther Jauch's “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” made it to second place in the younger target group with 0.71 million viewers and secured a full 16.0 percent of the market share.

Incidentally, not everything went smoothly during the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” recording: Showmaster Günther Jauch had to struggle with sound breakdowns – his microphone failed twice during the show.
