Paris is known worldwide for the beauty of its monuments but also for the dirt of its streets and their poor maintenance. The holding of the Olympic Games should have accelerated road repair projects, but this is not the case. On the contrary, potholes are multiplying on the road, to the great dismay of all users and at the cost of their safety.
“The pothole situation in Paris has deteriorated considerably over the past five years,”
observes Me Rémy Josseaume, a lawyer specializing in road law.
More and more people are contacting me to file an appeal against the city after an accident caused by these gaping holes in the road. This concerns all users: from the cyclist who will crack a meniscus when falling, to the motorcyclist who fractures an arm, to the motorist who has damaged his shock absorbers, without forgetting the pedestrian whose foot has become stuck in a hole while that he was crossing the street.”
For the Road Safety Department, this is a non-issue
