Erding - "And if I were to take just one piece of music with me to a deserted island - it would be Haydn's creation" - this is how the great conductor Sir Simon Rattle recently commented on one of the greatest and most famous works in music history on the occasion of his inaugural concert at Bayerischer Rundfunk.
In his oratorio “The Creation”, J. Haydn illustrates the biblical story of the creation of the world with a wealth of wonderful melodies and festive choirs. This brilliant piece of music will be performed on Sunday, April 21st at 5 p.m. in a no less magnificent setting: on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the parish church of the Annunciation of Mary, the Altenerding choir community will perform Haydn's oratorio in a celebratory concert.
The Erdinger soprano Ira Maria Scholz as well as Johannes Weinhuber (baritone) and Falk Hoffmann (tenor), both members of the renowned Leipzig MDR broadcast choir, take on the soloist parts, accompanied by a large symphony orchestra under the direction of Franz Maier.
The festive music of Haydn in the glamorous space of the Altenerdinger Baroque Church with its excellent acoustics - two artistic masterpieces in harmony: this promises to be a special musical experience. Tickets are available at the box office.
