42 years after the Malvinas War, President Javier Milei led the commemorative event at the cenotaph located in Plaza San Martín where he spoke on national television, criticized the political leadership for "dirtying" the armed forces and called to "inaugurate a new era of reconciliation".
"The best tribute is to defend the claim, we are the first government to take charge of this situation," exclaimed the president in an event that was broadcast on the national network.
"There is no sovereignty or international respect for our interests if the political leadership dirtyes the armed forces. That time is over, they are pride for our nation," he stressed.
In that sense, the libertarian called on society and political leadership to inaugurate a new era of reconciliation with the armed forces and, he announced, May 25 "will be the first step of this new doctrine," in relation to the May Pact. in the province of Córdoba.
"I am committed that we will be able to have a clear roadmap for the Malvinas to return to Argentine hands," he added.
