Pet owners often leave everything behind if their kitty or dog isn't feeling well. Sometimes the diagnosis is not always what you expect.

on TikTok , notices that her three-year-old cat Abby is walking around on three paws as if she's injured. She cannot detect an open wound or foreign body in her paws. She thinks she has a broken leg and calls her vet. He advises her to wait a while in case there is a slight sprain. But Abby is still limping around the house days later. The 28-year-old then made an appointment to have her cat thoroughly checked out.
Cat is pretty clever and seeks attention
Sidney tells

: "They ran a series of tests but couldn't find anything." The American doesn't want to be satisfied with that and goes to another veterinarian. “We went to a specialist, but he still didn’t find anything.”
Sidney spent around $1,000 (approx. 925 euros) on vet visits, x-rays, painkillers and blood tests. When the doctors made a diagnosis, it wasn't what she expected. You suspect your cat has a behavior problem. The cat owner puts two and two together: Abby is probably just acting out to get more attention from her.
One reason for this could be her sick dog. At this point he has a heartworm and receives special treatment from Sidney. The cat simply reacts jealously. “She learned that when you’re sick you get treats and attention,” Sidney says. But dogs can also react jealously towards cats and become jealous of their food.

Some cats have strong personalities and like to pretend to get their way. The young woman now knows how to deal with it and gives her pet the attention he deserves. Nevertheless, it always makes sense to have any changes in behavior or abnormalities checked out by a veterinarian in order to save animals unnecessary pain or suffering.
