The President of the Republic unveiled, a few days ago, the main elements of the bill on the end of life, the examination of which in Parliament could begin in May. The stakes are high and challenge health professionals, families affected by the disease and also the fundamentals of our society. The Senate Social Affairs Committee has worked at length on this issue and on the opportunity for an evolution of the legislative framework for the end of life in France. From this work, I retain an essential fact: the examination of this bill will be carried out in a context where the Clayes-Leonetti law is poorly implemented and where the deployment of palliative care throughout the territory remains limited. .
