The party is over since Monday afternoon. The rave party which brought together more than 8,000 people at an airport near Quimper (Finistère) ended after three days of music despite the prefectural ban. This Tuesday, the prefecture recorded around 200 vehicles present on the site. “This represents around 600 people,” estimated Jean-François Garrec, the president of Aéroport de Cornouaille, the company which manages the airport, interviewed by Ouest-France.
Since Monday, 200 gendarmes have fined the ravers leaving the tarmac for “participation in a prohibited demonstration”. The fine incurred amounts to 135 euros. Those who came to party with their vehicle saw the bill increase: 135 euros for “dangerous parking”. In total, “8,750 people” were fined, indicated the prefect of Finistère Alain Espinasse at the microphone of France Bleu this Tuesday.

Ninety-three people were treated by emergency services during the three days of celebration. A team of firefighters and two civil security associations were present alongside the Techno + association to ensure the safety of the participants. “That’s 93 people too many. Honestly, allow me to say that the hundreds of gendarmes, police officers, firefighters, first aid associations, doctors and emergency personnel mobilized on site, on the outskirts, in hospitals to manage this, they had other things to do,” he said. the prefect on France Bleu.

This Tuesday, it is also time to estimate the material damage. Forced fences, forced gates and broken lamps… At Télégramme, the director of the airport, Christophe Hamel estimates the damage “between 50,000 euros and 100,000 euros at first glance”. The interior of the main airport building as well as the weather antenna were also damaged according to Jean-François Garrec. Work must be carried out throughout the week.
The “teufeurs” had flocked from all over France and some from Belgium from 4 a.m. on Saturday to the Pluguffan airport platform which has not been in operation since November. “The first ones forced the entrance to the airport, almost overturning the gendarmerie vehicle” deployed on site, Finistère prefect Alain Espinasse told AFP on Sunday. Sound walls and stages had been erected on the site despite the seizure of equipment. The authorities did not wish to expel the revelers, judging the “exercise quite risky” for the “safety of people”.
