Seine-et-Marne: in 2023, tourism did better than before Covid

Highlights: Some 20.53 million tourists visited Seine-et-Marne last year. This is 7% more than in 2022. In 2019, the best year in terms of tourist attendance since 2010. For the first time since Covid, the city has regained his level of activity and even did better than before the health crisis in 2019. The cultural sites welcomed nearly 2.5 million visitors in 2023, i.e., on average, + 20% for castles and 10% for museums compared to 2022.


Seine-et-Marne Attractiveness, the economic and tourist agency of the departmental council, has unveiled its 2023 tourism report.


Some 20.53 million tourists visited Seine-et-Marne last year. This is 7% more than in 2022 and 12% more than before the health crisis in 2019, the best year in terms of tourist attendance since 2010. For the first time since Covid, Seine-et-Marne has regained his level of activity and even did better.

“The cultural sites of Seine-et-Marne welcomed nearly 2.5 million visitors in 2023, i.e., on average, + 20% for castles and + 10% for museums compared to 2022,” explains Olivier Morin, president of Seine-et-Marne Attractiveness (SMA), the economic and tourist agency of the departmental council.
