'Digital twins'

Jorge Carrión, creator of the

fiction

podcast

Solaris

, had a new concept floating around in his head: digital twins. They are virtual representations of an object or system that spans its life cycle and is updated based on data in real time. It can be a person or a city. With that idea, he created the new story of him.

In it, Fernando Álvarez, a journalist specialized in technology, divorced and father of two children, receives a message. Someone tells him that in Cross Roads, a scientific community in Shenzen, China, everything has its digital twin: people, houses, even the clouds. And he decides to travel to check it out.

This fiction essay

podcast

about this technology explores in six episodes the human condition in the context of metaverses, virtual clones and artificial intelligence. Science fiction about a phenomenon that could become pure reality. With sound design by Teo Rodríguez and the lead voice of actor Pablo Derqui, it is now available in full on Podium Podcast.

New life to Vargas Llosa's theater

Coinciding with World Theater Day, on March 27, Audible premiered

Odysseus and Penelope

and

One Thousand Nights and One Night

, librettos from

Nobel Prize in Literature Mario Vargas Llosa. He is voiced by actors Aitana Sánchez-Gijón and Pedro Casablanc. The actress has already performed both works by the Peruvian author on stage (and many others in the last 20 years) and she takes advantage of her knowledge of both texts and her characters to give them new life in audio format.

'Cut! Decoding fiction'

Once a month, Jesús Blanquiño and Jorge Gonzalo will explore

crucial topics around representation and narrative in cinema, series and other contemporary audiovisual media in this

video podcast

. Diversity on screen from a very specific point of view will be the protagonist of each installment and will explain how this way of reflecting the world affects the collective imagination and how we can build more inclusive references. The first episode is now available, dedicated to censorship and resistance in Hollywood, in collaboration with ODA, the Observatory of Diversity in Audiovisual Media. In the coming months it will have guests such as Samantha Hudson, María Rosón and Astrid Jones.
