Geretsried creates space for child care. Yellow containers provide temporary relief.

– Things are getting colorful on Tattenkofener Straße. The colored containers for the interim daycare center were recently delivered there. The city reported this in a statement.
Interim solution until the new daycare center is ready
As in many places, the care situation in Geretsried is tense. Plans are currently underway for a new daycare center on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße (we reported). But until it is finished - which is expected to be the end of 2025 - the children will have to be accommodated somewhere. For this purpose, a temporary solution using modular construction is now being set up at the former location of the Caritas Blechkiste daycare center on Tattenkofener Straße.

32 containers were set up on the former tin box area
According to the city's announcement, the Kleusberg company set up 32 containers. The heaviest of these weighs 4.5 tons. The property will be used to its maximum: the interim ski center occupies an area of 477 square meters. When designing the facade, the city councilors emphasized a friendly color at a meeting last summer. It has now become a shade of yellow that decorates the main surfaces of the containers.
Kinderland Weyarn, which will later operate the newly built daycare center on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße, will also take over the operation of the interim daycare center. It is scheduled to go into operation in the first half of the year. According to the city, in the interim solution there will be two crèche groups and one kindergarten group. Twelve places will be created per crèche group and 25 places in the kindergarten group. A total of 49 children can be looked after there.
Outdoor facilities are being upgraded
Development and open space work is now being carried out on the site on Tattenkofener Straße. According to the release, this includes sewage, water and electricity development as well as stormwater disposal. There is also still work to be done on the outdoor areas: a new double-bar fence will enclose the area, the paths will be paved and the parking spaces in front of the daycare area will be upgraded.

As reported, the area for the new daycare center on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße was cleared in February. As the city reports, earthworks are currently taking place on the site. “The heaps that have now formed were sampled and, depending on their quality, are sent to the appropriate collection points.” Concrete foundations were also discovered there, relics of a former gravel pit that was once located there. “The concrete is of good quality and can be broken directly on site,” says the city. This mineral concrete recycling material will be partially reinstalled as a substructure for the new traffic areas in the outdoor areas.
The new daycare center on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße will house six kindergarten and four crèche groups.
