A Montmartre resident for twenty years, Talila Denize runs the Immopolis real estate agency at 17 rue Ramey. On the very site of the former grocery store of the Italian parents of actor Fabrice Luchini, who grew up here. Wedged between Barbès, Château-Rouge and Porte de Clignancourt, areas known to be difficult, this popular sloping street at the foot of the Sacré-Cœur has long suffered from a bad image, between drug dealing and prostitution. Before experiencing a spectacular rebirth but without fuss, like the heterogeneous facades.
“We are still very far from the Marais,” grumbles a resident of the Damrémont district who nevertheless multiplies his culinary forays there. Talila Denize dates gentrification back to the beginning of 2010-2011. African hair salons, nail salons and mobile phone shops have started to give way to new local businesses.
