The former “Tagesschau” presenter Judith Rakers has interviewed many a celebrity. Now she revealed a real TV shock moment: Rainhard Fendrich refused to give her answers.
Kiel - It was more than ten years ago, but the former "Tagesschau" spokeswoman Judith Rakers (48) still remembers clearly: On the NRD talk show "3nach9" she experienced an embarrassing TV moment on the brown leather sofa - the reason was Austro-pop musician Reinhard Fendrich (65). Now she spoke to Barbara Schöneberger (50) about this “shocking moment”: It quickly became clear that the presenter would probably never forget it.

For 19 years she was an integral part of a popular cult show, but now it's over: Judith Rakers left the "Tagesschau" at her own request. But retirement and doing nothing is probably a long way off for her, after all, she also works on the TV talk show “3nach9”. She has met all sorts of guests and celebrities there, including Reinhard Fendrich. But the interview didn’t go as expected – quite the opposite.
After her moderation colleague Giovanni di Lorenzo (65) spoke to Fendrich about his life, Judith Rakers was supposed to take over. But nothing came of it, as Judith recalled: "I asked him the first question and he looked at me and said, 'I'm not talking about that on TV'."
An absolute shock: A seven-minute conversation about Reinhard Fendrich's drug past was planned; after all, Fendrich had spoken openly and in detail about this sensitive topic in the preliminary conversation. And after all, such a preliminary conversation is intended to clarify possible taboo topics. Rakers' reaction? Wait. And so the presenter counted internally: “Twenty-one, twenty-two” – it could be that the artist was kidding her. And she was right: Judith was redeemed because Rainhard Fendrich talked about his past. “That’s my memory of Rainhard Fendrich,” Rakers ended her story with a laugh.

The news program “Tagesschau” is probably the oldest and most popular information program on German-language television. It celebrated its premiere at Christmas 1952.

The numerous users left lots of laughing emoticons and virtual “thumbs up” for an excerpt from the conversation with Barbara Schöneberger. But the fans also praised with words. One user wrote: “Brilliant story”. Another user also saw it that way and wrote: “I just had to laugh so much.”
