He will undoubtedly take refuge behind his advanced state of intoxication to justify the unspeakable. A 39-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday evening for having struck his disabled partner several times while the couple was in the aisles of the Auchan store in the Quatre-Temps shopping center in La Défense.
It was around 8:30 p.m. when a police crew was informed that a man, obviously drunk, had just been restrained by a security guard from the supermarket. When the security guard intervenes a few moments earlier, a woman, lying on the ground, screams in terror a few meters from an overturned wheelchair.
Blows to the face
According to the first elements collected by the officials, the victim was already in the aisles of the supermarket when she was joined by her companion, visibly reluctant to push the cart into the shelves. “An argument broke out and the arrested individual punched the victim several times in the face,” confides a police source. He then knocked her to the ground, grabbed her arms and dragged her along the ground for a few meters. It was the security guard who stopped and restrained him.”
While the individual was taken to the business district police station where he was placed in police custody, his partner, aged 46, was transported to Ambroise Paré hospital. The latter did not appear to suffer serious injuries but complained of pain in her shoulder, knee and head.
