Great sadness for Gino Badagliacca: Not only did he make it to the final in the first season of the RTL “Supertalent”, but he could also look back on an eventful life.

Gütersloh - He became known throughout Germany as the "singing pizza baker", thrilled millions of viewers in the first season of "Das Supertalent", and made it to the final in the first season of the RTL show: Now Gino Badagliacca's voice has been silenced forever. This is reported by the

Westfalen-Blatt

. A death notice that can be found on

states that Badagliacca died on March 26th at the age of 84.

Gino Badagliacca is dead: he had a very eventful life

Deutschlandfunk

once told the life story of Gino Badagliacca, who came to Gütersloh from Sicily

.

There is no mention of “super talent” there, but it is probably the same person: he was 19 at the time and had to buy his first coat as soon as he arrived in Germany in August. Badagliacca worked as a bricklayer in construction. But homesickness got to him. “Do you know what homesickness is? When you're somewhere and you're missing home, go to the train station every evening after work and watch the trains come by. This Amsterdam – Milan train always stops in Gütersloh. Huge wheels. And where the train started: boom boom, and then I said to my buddy: 'Four five to Milan and we're here.' That’s homesickness.”

But there was also the music that helped him arrive. While walking in Gütersloh, he came across a bar from which piano music was playing. From then on he sang there regularly. “That’s how my life started. And I met my wife in this restaurant and we got married a year and a half later.”

Gino Badagliacca: On the RTL “Supertalent” he gave Dieter Bohlen goosebumps

So in the end he made his home in Gütersloh and opened a pizzeria there. And he inspired more and more people with his singing talent. In 2007, this even led him to the big stage at “Supertalent” on RTL, where he sang, among other things, “Nessun Dorma”. He made it to the final. According to

Radio Gütersloh,

Bohlen raved

after Badagliacca's final appearance that he had endless goosebumps. It was “only” enough for fourth place – the relay was won by Ricardo Marinello. But Badagliacca won many hearts with his performances. And he also became even better known in his new home of Gütersloh. “Supertalent” viewers had to say goodbye to Dickson Oppong several years ago
