The four-legged animal was lucky in his misfortune. Several people, in fact, gave their body and soul to succeed in bringing back to dry land a dog that had fallen into a river in Lisbon, as shown in this video captured last February by a couple.
One man even used a rope to lower himself to the animal that was struggling in the choppy water. Although he managed to catch it, he tried to pull it back up... in vain. The images show the individual and the dog falling into the river under the desperate gaze of observers.
Despite everything, the passers-by did not give up. They decided to guide the dog to the bottom of a staircase built into the wall, about 300 meters away. The bet was successful: the animal named Cosmo began to swim up to the steps. The dog then managed to find shelter and found its master.
