Unión por la Patria did not send the names of its representatives, in protest, because as a larger group they demand more places.

In tension with Kirchnerism, the Senate ruling party will expressly activate six commissions this Thursday. In disagreement with the agreed proportionality, the Unión por la Patria bloc has not yet sent the names of its members and they will not provide a quorum either.

"No one called us, there is no progress.

Let them govern the Chamber with their pro-government allies

," stated an important legislator from Unión por la Patria. "They didn't even offer us a presidency.

We listened to offers

," said another key senator from the bench.

The marathon of meetings is set for this Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Labor, Agriculture, Federal Tax Co-participation, National Economy, Internal Security and Drug Trafficking and Tourism commissions will be established, one after the other.

These are 6 of the 18 that Victoria Villarruel left formed via resolution last week, without waiting for UP to designate the name of hers. Of course, the places were reserved for them.

In the commissions that have 19 members, they saved 8 seats for Kirchnerism and in those that have 17 senators, they left them 7.

In both cases, Unión por la Patria remains in the minority.

This Thursday no project will begin to be debated, only the commissions will be formally set up and their authorities will be appointed.

The six that will be formed are expected to be chaired by allies: three from the PRO - among them Alfredo De Angeli in Agriculture - and three from the UCR. It is estimated that Carolina Losada from Santa Fe will be in charge of Internal Security and Drug Trafficking.

It was also planned that the National Defense Committee would be formed, but it had to be suspended because a quorum was not going to be reached without UP. Everything indicated that it would be for Luis Juez.

The head of the Kirchnerist interbloc, José Mayans, will not be in the Palace this Thursday because he has the flu. But once a quorum is constituted, it is not ruled out that UP legislators will attend the meetings to raise their claim.

The fact of not sending the names of yours is a form of protest against the formation scheme.

Although UP is the interbloc with the most members (33), Villarruel agreed, as soon as he assumed, with the UCR, PRO and federal blocs the formation of a circumstantial majority of 39 members precisely to distribute the places on the commissions and presidencies. .

There are conflicting versions about the presidencies, because while UP assures that they were not offered any, both the ruling party and other parliamentary sources assure that they have reserved some for Kirchnerism. The truth is that communication does not flow.

As Clarín said, the interblock commanded by Mayans even threatens to build a sufficient majority in the chamber to vote again on the criteria for forming commissions and turn that reality around. But for that they must wait for the first session, which still has no date and no agenda on the door, and they need to get at least four more wishes.

The majority that was achieved to reject Milei's DNU and the recent enmity of the governor of Santa Cruz - who dropped off the list of allies and has two senators - excites them.

But all the benches participate in the official list of commissions and it is difficult for them to break the pact with the ruling party sealed at the beginning of the year. In any case, the new alliances will be for future projection votes.

The assembly of committees is the only parliamentary activity of this short week in the Senate. The rest of the agenda is taken up by Malvinas week.

Victoria Villarruel did her own act for the Malvinas: "Argentina did the right thing, which was to defend its land"

This Wednesday, Vice President Victoria Villarruel led the delivery of diplomas to former combatants and every day, until next Monday, there will be activities for the Malvinas in the Upper House.

"Malvinas is the cause that unites all Argentines. Whatever ideas you have, whatever social class you are, you will feel that

on April 2, Argentina did the right thing, which was to defend its land

," he stated.

He spoke of "beginning a new stage" and stressed: "Every day of our lives has to be April 2, the most glorious day of our 20th century, in which the Argentine flag flew in a territory usurped by the English invader. "Many years have passed but

we remain standing, firm, claiming the sovereignty of our territory usurped

in 1833, which was watered with the blood of our heroes in 1982."

The vice president started the event by pointing out that "they have been 42 very hard years, of de-malvinization, forgetfulness and indifference." "These men did not receive the hug from Argentine society that they so deserved and had earned," she said and thanked President Javier Milei.

"If I am here today, the daughter of a Malvinas veteran, it is thanks to the president of the Nation who proposed me to be his running mate," she said.

"It is time to recover respect for our armed forces, which the Argentine people also owe to the heroes of the Malvinas, and for us to work together to get Argentina out of the mud we have been in for decades," he concluded.
