The Cycle Tourism Fair, which will be held in the DumBO space, kicks off in Bologna from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th April. The event, organized by Bikenomist, a company specialized in the communication and promotion of cycling economies, will be an opportunity for cycling tourism operators to get to know each other and compare experiences, such as those in Tuscany, Flanders and Gran Canaria. The three days in Bologna will also allow them to take stock of new business and training models for hotels that want to increase their attractiveness towards chipedala.
"Our territory is ready to welcome cycle tourists from all over Italy and from all over the world, because we strongly believe in active tourism as sustainable development", commented the mayor Matteo Lepore, recalling the investments for the construction of 80 kilometers of Ciclovia del Sole and the Bicipolitana network from 1000 kilometers.
Thanks to the collaboration with Shimano Italia, the bicycle service center will be created, consisting of a car park to accommodate over 500 bikes at the same time within a guarded environment capable of offering a first aid service. There is also an area dedicated to children who will accompany their parents to the event. Finally, the program includes the presentation of the fourth Isnart report on the economy of cycle tourism and the presentation of the international network, EuroVelo. On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April, the fair opens its doors to the public starting at 10am. Access is free, but registration on the site is required.
