April will probably be really warm in many places in Germany. A new weather forecast even predicts midsummer temperatures in the south.
Wiesbaden – The weather on the weekend between April 6th and 7th could offer a foretaste of what large parts of Germany can expect in terms of temperatures in April as a whole. According to forecasts, these temperatures could sometimes become midsummer.
Weather in April: A midsummer weekend is expected in Germany
“As a meteorologist, you really rub your eyes in amazement. For Saturday (
April 6th, ed
.) and also in the following days, peak temperatures are calculated as in midsummer. At an altitude of around 1,500 meters (

), the values are definitely like those in midsummer, or even values that are rarely seen in midsummer,” explains qualified meteorologist Dominik Jung, managing director of the weather service Q.met, to the weather portal

: “At around 1500 meters we expect between 15 and almost 20 degrees on Saturday.”
In deeper areas, however, it is “only” sufficient for values “around 25 to 28 degrees, locally perhaps even 29 or almost 30 degrees. This is really crazy. February 2024 was the warmest February since measurements began, March 2024 followed suit,” says the weather analyst. “And now April is having such a blatant temperature rally.”

Weather in Germany: Peak temperatures near 30 degrees possible
At Easter it had become warm like spring, especially in the south of Germany. While on Monday (April 1st) the temperatures dropped significantly again in some cases. “We already had peaks of up to 24.9 degrees on Holy Saturday, which meant we only missed the summer day by a small margin. Now it could go up a little further a week later. Peak values near the 30 degree mark are currently not out of the question for next Saturday,” explains meteorologist Jung and concludes: “Saharan dust will probably tip the scales again, because it will arrive in Germany again from Friday. It's rare to get such high values at this altitude, even in midsummer," he says, drawing a comparison: "If we were currently in midsummer, then we would probably reach significantly more than 35 degrees down on the ground." Changeable April weather: It gets really warm in Germany at the weekend
