Pfeffikon, Switzerland – Barbara Schöneberger (50) has become an integral part of the German television landscape. And neither does Beatrice Egli (35). This combination alone is the recipe for success for a captivating podcast episode. In their joint conversation, both women discuss dealing with prejudice.
Barbara Schöneberger's flea market experiences
The two TV beauties only came to the topic of weight in a detour in their joint podcast episode. The TV stars actually talked about the amount of clothing the two own. Beatrice Egli jokingly suggested: “We could actually open our own flea market, the two of us. It would go through an entire city.”
Barbara Schöneberger then smiled: “Which is funny. I once took part in a flea market.” The TV presenter said that “stronger women” in particular visited her flea market stall and hoped to find plus sizes from her. “Let me through, I have to go to Ms. Schöneberger’s pole. “I’m going to buy a dress from her now,” said the ladies.
Beatrice Egli on prejudices: “Oh, you’re not as fat as I thought”
When trying on the flea market fans, they were seriously disappointed by Barbara Schöneberger's actual clothing size. Some even said, “Uh, those are your clothes? How am I supposed to fit in? Those aren't her clothes!” Pop star Beatrice Egli spoke of similar experiences: “Oh, you're not as fat as I thought.” “Yes, not that fat and not that old,” Schöneberger countered jokingly.
Barbara Schöneberger also told an anecdote: “The other day someone said: That’s the Schöneberger. Then the other said: No, Schöneberger is much older!”. Beatrice couldn't let this unflattering comment stand and enthused: “I can describe to you, Barbara is sitting in front of me. With her bright blue eyes, with her eyelashes, with her beautiful hair. She has a complexion - you have the feeling that she lives in Sicily all day."
