The “end of history”, according to Francis Fukuyama’s formula, was to mark the triumph of the democratic model. “The free world” has lulled itself with this gentle prophecy, lowering its guard in the face of the collapse of the communist and authoritarian world, walling itself off in consumerist, autistic, self-centered and soft societies.
