From week to week, the appointment of the new rector of Paris promised to be “

 ”. It ultimately took two months to find a successor to Christophe Kerrero, who resigned with a bang on February 2, amid disagreements with Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, the short-lived Minister of Education.

Bernard Beignier, until then rector of Aix-Marseille, will succeed him. A graduate of private law and criminal sciences, this 66-year-old man piloted, in Marseille, the “schools of the future”, this experiment launched by the President of the Republic which intends to give more resources and room for maneuver to primary schools and to their directors. An experiment that Emmanuel Macron has also promised to generalize. This mission inevitably played a role in the promotion of Bernard Beignier to the rectorate of Paris.
