“It's the economy, stupid”. In 1992, when Bill Clinton launched the presidential race against George Bush (father), one of his advisors summed up the issues of the campaign in these few words. Three decades later, on the other side of the Atlantic, Republicans and Democrats are trying to activate other levers to convince.
The former know that they can galvanize their electorate on the issue of immigration - particularly in the states which are most directly concerned by the subject, such as Texas, which borders Mexico. The second focuses on the question of abortion and, more broadly, the right of women to control their bodies. Right largely obstructed by Republicans in certain states.
