Anat Kam dressed up as a rhinoceros, and it's as sad as it sounds - voila! news

2024-04-04T14:09:40.931Z

Highlights: Anat Kam attacked the B'Tselem organization and righteously stated: "At this point in time, anyone who considered himself a leftist had to choose: either human rights, or Palestinian nationalism" "I chose: there are no human rights without liberating Gaza from the yoke of occupation," she said. "The difference between leftism and anti-Semitic nationalism has never been clearer," she added. "It is not clear to me what her personal motivation is for taking a one-sided position"

The war must be over - because Anat Kam is free to go against the B'Tselem organization. Seemingly a petty argument, but actually it is a fight for our souls: either you are a humanist who opposes Hamas and the Israeli government, or you support Smotrich. With Anat Kam we will all end up in Bnei Gantz, and the good intentions of both pave the way for us to hell

You can relax - the war is over. Not because Netanyahu achieved the absolute victory, and not because Gantz grew humbled members. It's simple: the left renewed the old fights. Here, Anat Kam attacked the B'Tselem organization and righteously stated: "At this point in time, anyone who considered himself a leftist had to choose: either human rights, or Palestinian nationalism."

I chose: there are no human rights without liberating Gaza from the yoke of occupation. And there will be no human rights here for anyone, not even privileged Jews, as long as the prison called Gaza is whitewashed and outraged by talented and cunning writers like Kam.

The reality is complicated. Nothing of all that Israel has perpetrated and abused, in the territories in general and in Gaza in particular, can justify the crimes of October 7th. And in the same breath, nothing from the horrors surrounding Gaza can justify the atrocities that Israel is perpetrating in Gaza. And precisely because of this dilemma, Kam's words are outrageous.

From the little I follow the mud wars of the local left, I get the impression that Anat Kam, how to say it with respectful gentleness, was very, very imprecise in her words. It is not clear to me what her personal motivation is for taking a one-sided position in a complex labor dispute that has at least two sides. I'm really not interested in what exactly happened within the B'Tselem organization, if at all. I know only one thing to be true: in the first moments of the horror, when I was looking for a pure Israeli opinion that was not tainted by belligerent apologetics, that did not immediately stand on the side of war and revenge with a built-in Pavlovian conditioning, I found only the sharp and precise message from "Betzlem":

"On Saturday, Hamas committed a shocking crime whose horrifying dimensions are still getting darker [...] they killed hundreds of civilians indiscriminately and injured thousands [...] and kidnapped [...] children, women and the elderly [...] family members who still do not know what happened to their loved ones who were captured and taken to the Gaza Strip."

"Israel certainly cannot do away with coercion: ministers in the government who are now calling for killing, destroying, crushing, crushing, and even starving the residents of the Gaza Strip, forget that this is already Israeli policy [...] when it is clear that this time too many of the victims are civilians - including women, Children and the elderly.

"Deliberate harm to civilians is always wrong and forbidden. There can be no justification for such crimes, not when they are committed as part of a struggle for freedom and liberation from oppression, and not when they are justified as a fight against terrorism. Anyone who abandons the basic moral principle that all human beings were created in an image has lost a human image."

What is not clear to Anat Kam? Why she preaches with the sourness of a rigid pedagogue: "The difference between liberal leftism and support for human rights and barbaric and anti-Semitic nationalism has never been clearer; it is our duty to demand from the organizations of the left, the Israelis above all, to make the right choice." Why does she have to deny the above mentioned things, and many other publications by B'Tselem, saying: "But what are you afraid of? Saying that a barbaric massacre is a crime against humanity will not make you less good leftists." After all, that is exactly your position. Maybe she too, disillusioned with wisdom like her, wants to be okay with everyone. To be accepted in the sticky stream of consensus, and to park in the parking lot of the people who have no opinion. It is not allowed Let manipulations like hers become routine. We live in an O-O reality. Either you are a humanist who opposes Hamas and the Israeli government, with all their differences, or you support Smotrich. Either you have the courage to stand up against all religious fanaticism, or you are the one-eyed blind rhinoceros - The one who should see yourself.

Nothing justifies the crimes of Hamas - nor the horrors we are perpetrating in Gaza. IDF fighters in the Gaza Strip/IDF spokesman

"Betzelem" belongs to the family of organizations - you won't believe it - that are not only pursuers of peace, justice and truth, but those that have set themselves the goal of bringing Israel up to the high standards it has set for itself. "The only democracy in the Middle East"? OK, but these are the defects that require correction. "The most moral army in the world"? The Governor. But the one who commits indiscriminate destruction, looting, imperviousness to the death of thousands of innocent and helpless people, starving the masses and allowing the hill criminals to prevent humanitarian aid is clearly immoral. All the weapons of the occupation army are unclean! The same goes for the killers of the humanitarian aid organizations. And only the brave revelations of B'Tselem investigators, while risking real lives, can help our sick country recover from its troubles.

Apparently this is just another petty argument. But deep down, this is a fight for Israel's future and soul. Anat Kam We will all reach Gantz's sons, and with the good intentions of both of them the road is paved straight to hell. With "Betzlem" we may still reach peace, justice and equality.
