Aragonès will go to the Senate to defend the amnesty: “Trolling the PP is always in the mood”

The president of the Catalan Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, will go to the Senate next Monday to defend the amnesty for those accused of the

president

has asserted that he brought forward the elections to May 12 to “not leave the country in a situation of blockade”; and he has criticized Junts and Catalunya en Comú for their rejection of the regional budgets that precipitated the decision. “They have missed an opportunity,” he said. He has also charged against Carles Puigdemont by stating that the former president and current Junts candidate, who he has been in Brussels since 2017 to avoid being tried, is seeking “personal restitution.” This restitution will not be “institutional” as Junts claims, Aragonès stressed, since both Quim Torra and himself have been presidents elected by the Parliament.
