Its golden scrolls stand proudly towards the sky. At the castle of Dampierre-en-Yvelines, the sentry returned. Majestic wrought iron gate inaugurated with great fanfare this Thursday morning, this work of art has just been resurrected by the Saint-Jacques workshops of the Domaine de Coubertin, a few kilometers further, in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse.
The return of the gate of honor marks a major symbolic step in the pharaonic restoration of the Château de Dampierre, one of the largest operations on a private historic monument in France.
