The Israeli army announced this Thursday its decision to temporarily suspend the leave of "combatant units", in a context of war in the Gaza Strip but also with the resurgence of tensions with Iran.
“It has been decided to temporarily delay permissions granted to combat units,” the army announced, noting that Israeli forces “are at war and the question of the deployment of soldiers is constantly reviewed according to needs.” The army also said it was calling for additional reservists for its air, intelligence and civil defense units.
This announcement comes as on Monday the consular annex of the Iranian embassy in Damascus was destroyed by strikes attributed to Israel, which left 16 dead.
