President Emmanuel Macron assured this Thursday that the “preferred scenario” remained an opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on the Seine despite the threat of attack.

“The preferred scenario, the one that we are preparing, the one that we assume, the one that we want, is obviously the one that has been planned with all the organizers and the details of which will be revealed in due time,” declared the Head of State on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new aquatic center in Saint-Denis.

“We are preparing several scenarios (…), if the threat were to evolve, if we considered that the circumstances required it, we have fallback scenarios,” he explained without detailing them.
