during the past month, an investigation began in the Shin Bet and the central unit of the Jerusalem district, against a terrorist squad, on suspicion of their intention to carry out Attacks with the plan of placing an explosive device and firing a firearm, and belonging to the terrorist organization the Islamic State ("ISIS").
At the direction of the Shin Bet, about a month ago, detectives of the Jerusalem District Police Department arrested three terrorists, residents of East Jerusalem in their 20s.
The investigation of the terrorists revealed that they pledged allegiance to the Islamic State ("ISIS") and planned to carry out a number of attacks in central areas of the city of Jerusalem, with various plans of placing explosives and firing firearms.

It also emerged from the joint investigation of the Central Unit of the Jerusalem District and the Shin Bet, that two of the terrorists, who support the ideology of the Islamic State ("ISIS"), planned to carry out terrorist attacks against a police station in East Jerusalem. In addition, the terrorists planned to carry out an attack in the area of the Teddy Stadium, with the plan of placing an explosive device
Since the preparation of the charge was not successful, the two instead planned to carry out a shooting attack on the spot. The two terrorists teamed up with another terrorist (in his 50s, a resident of Sawahra) who
guided
and convinced them to go to terrorist training abroad. First to countries in Africa and then to Syria or Iraq, in order to promote terrorist activity in Israel and abroad. Later, another suspect was arrested for involvement in the act.
Before their arrest, the two terrorists began preparing to carry out the terrorist attacks and learning how to prepare the charges and the means of sabotage with which they planned to carry out the attacks. Police investigators in the Jerusalem District and the Shin Bet revealed their intentions to prepare explosive devices and a shooting attack that the terrorists intended to carry out against a police station in Jerusalem and the Teddy Stadium area of the city.
With the conclusion of the investigation by the Shin Bet and the Jerusalem District Court, an evidentiary foundation was formed against the terrorist squad. Their detention has been extended from time to time, at the Peace Court in Jerusalem, and an indictment is expected against them today by the prosecutor's office.
