Yesterday there was a dangerous situation in Memmingerberg. A shot was actually fired. The police have now caught the perpetrator.

– Large-scale police operation with special forces at a residential building in Memmingerberg: Emergency calls from the neighborhood had reached the operations control center, reporting that a shot had been fired. At first the situation was unclear. When the police found the weapon, their suspicions were confirmed: a shot had actually been fired from it.

As part of a larger search operation, a 17-year-old, who is believed to have committed the crime, was arrested without resistance. According to the investigation, the minor fired the blank gun in his basement at home and then took it outside, explains police spokesman Holger Stabik when asked.
The exact motive has not yet been conclusively clarified, reports Stabik. What is certain, however, is that there was no conflict situation. There was also never a dangerous situation. The young person now has to answer for a violation of the weapons law, firstly, according to Stabik, because the weapon is only permitted for those aged 18 and over, and secondly because he illegally took it with him outside the house after firing the shot.
