A little girl is the victim of a knife attack in a supermarket. A suspect is arrested without resistance - and now has to go before the judge.
Wangen im Allgäu - After the knife attack on a four-year-old girl in a supermarket in Wangen im Allgäu, the alleged perpetrator is to be brought before the judge on Thursday afternoon. The 34-year-old has apparently not yet commented on the allegations, said a police spokeswoman.
She did not provide any further information about the man. The nationality was not initially known and the background to the crime remains unclear.
According to current findings, the 34-year-old is suspected of having attacked the girl with a knife and seriously injured her, as the police announced on Wednesday. The suspect allowed himself to be arrested without resistance.
According to the police, a witness in the supermarket noticed what was happening, took the knife from the attacker and called the officers. The child was reportedly taken to a clinic and operated on.
The discounter was open to customers again as usual on Thursday morning, said a dpa photographer on site. There were no traces left in the supermarket that were reminiscent of the crime on Wednesday afternoon. dpa
