Stuffed animals are usually adorable. Companions of children and adults, animal designs tend to be the most popular. However, there is a giant stuffed animal that has a terrifying reality and lives a sad end.
If we were in a Pixar movie, the scene couldn't be sadder without a doubt. Fortunately we are not, although the image is still horrible: a
giant stuffed rabbit
abandoned and rotting crowning a beautiful Italian mountain. You can't beat entropy.
Already faded pink in color,
the doll is 60 meters long
and is in a deplorable state at 1,600 meters above sea level, on Mount Colletto Fava, in the Piedmont region. It is a work by a Viennese group of artists called Gelatin.
Called Hase
(hare in German), the structure was built that year, 2005, by four 30-year-old friends who had met in 1978 at a summer camp. The group's idea was that visitors could feel like Gulliver and slide on him.

Hase is made of a pink fabric lining filled with straw. "We made molds of other stuffed animals: bears, smurfs, penguins. But
the rabbit was better because of the way it is lying on the ground
. The flat ears are a good place to walk easily on it," said Ali Janka , one of Gelatin's artists.
The sculpture was soft, like a real stuffed animal, but intentionally terrifying.

through the seams
, a preview of what was going to happen to him after a few years outdoors. Although the biodegradable sculpture was expected to last until 2025 (twenty years in total), the rabbit had already almost completely decomposed by 2016.

, but the truth is that it has lost almost all of its huggable stuffed animal appearance, as part of its fabric is torn and discolored and its 'guts' are out, looking more like a roadkill than anything else. "It's rotting and the intestines are coming out of its side, but it's really sweet," Janka added.
Even today it is said that the giant pink rabbit on Mount Colletto Fava was created by a group of grandmothers who spent five years weaving, but it is an
urban legend
that was spread by the artists themselves when they finished their work.
