“The Corpse in the Closet” written by Walter G. Pfaus is a wonderfully turbulent play that guarantees laughter. The three-act crime comedy is currently being performed by the Upper Lechgau Association in the Lechhalle in Lechbruck.

Lechbruck

- The success of the three-act play - as the strong applause at the premiere performance confirms - is due not least to the Gauehren board, organizer and director Walter Sirch. He brought together the best theater players in the region and cast them appropriately in the roles. The district will use the income to finance the Bavarian traditional costume conference in Marktoberdorf next year.

By the way: Everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter. And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

“Lent is over, the rehearsal period for the theater people is over”: with these words, district director Sepp Wohlfahrt welcomed the audience on the premiere day. The music group “Bierblech” from Buching provided musical accompaniment to the performances.

Great excitement right from the start

The piece starts with great excitement: the lover Nicol Kraft (played by Carolin Friedberger from Bidingen), who stops by for a shepherd's hour with photographer Johann Boiß (Lorenz Knestel from Sulzschneid), is attacked by her jealous and violent husband Siggi Kraft (Michael Romeder from Trauchgau ) tracked. In order not to be exposed, the photographer has an idea.

The single convinces his neighbor and straw widow Simone Lehmann (Manuela Steiner from Rieden), who is also very interested in him and is also married, to play his wife. Said and done. However, since he previously rejected her, this request has to be made on his knees. Meanwhile, Nicol claims that she only wants to be photographed for her husband.

He hides in the closet and plays a corpse

The confusion is complete as more actors enter the stage. On the one hand, Simone's amorous acquaintance, the burglar Arno Pakult (Thomos Modosch from Sulzschneid), who also shows up at Johann's apartment with a very specific criminal concern. Suddenly Simone's husband Axel Lehmann (Hubert Frühholz from Seeg) can be heard returning from his business trip far too early. Without further ado, Arno hides in the closet and plays a corpse.

The older couple Anna and Hans Halt (Helene Brenner from Hopferau and Klaus Uhlschmied from Wildsteig) would like to be photographed by photographer Boiß. However, Hans is more interested in the numerous younger women than in a photo shoot. Even more so because the photos seem to be anything but appealing due to other examples on the wall.

All news and stories can also be found on the Schongauer Nachrichten Facebook page.

One of the other younger women is Chief Inspector Gloria Heimann (Agnes Hengge from Stötten). However, she doesn't initially identify herself as such, but happily plays along as a photo model and signs a temporary contract with photographer Boiß. “The actors have to survive some turbulent scenes until almost everything resolves happily,” says the play’s description.

Three more playdates

The amusing actors Klaus Uhlschmied and Manuela Steiner also get a special laugh. The latter simply plays first-class with her provocative negligee, high-heeled shoes and her tap-walk. Uhlschmied wonderfully plays the role of a drunk who, despite gymnastics, barely manages to get back on his feet. But the other actors also play brilliantly.

Further game dates

are this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 5th to 7th, from 8 p.m. in the Lechhalle in Lechbruck. Remaining tickets can be ordered from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. from the Dreher family on 08860/1341.
