Four people died and more than ten were injured overnight from Wednesday to Thursday following new Russian strikes on Kharkiv, Ukraine's second city, authorities announced. Three rescue workers died during a
“second strike”
on a place which had just been bombed in a
“densely populated district of Kharkiv”
, announced Mayor Igor Terekhov. One person was also killed in a strike on a residential building in another neighborhood, he added.

The head of the Kharkiv military region, Oleg Synegubov, reported an attack by
“at least 15
enemy drones,” some of which were shot down by anti-aircraft defense.
Cities in Ukraine are the subject of Russian strikes almost every night, with the city of Kharkiv, close to the border in the north-east of the country, among the most regularly targeted.
Ukrainian officials are increasing cries of alarm for the country's Western allies to deliver more anti-aircraft defense assets, including modern American Patriot systems.
American military aid to Ukraine, in particular, is drying up due to opposition from Donald Trump's Republican camp, which is blocking an envelope of some 60 billion dollars promised by President Joe Biden.
