“Bauer sucht Frau” participant Anna Hauser causes thousands of reactions among her fans with a confession from her past. What the memory triggered for her and how she deals with it.

Cologne – The “Bauer sucht Frau” couple Anna (33) and Gerald Heiser (38) from season 13 of the popular RTL series are still present years after the broadcast ended. Polish-born Anna Hauser regularly provides her fan base with updates about her life in Namibia. Now she has shared something from her past, which caused strong reactions from her fans.

“Farmer is looking for a wife” dream couple had difficult times in Namibia

After all the highs in the life of the dream couple Anna and Gerald, the lows finally came. In the fall of 2023, farmer Gerald reported how bad things were financially for his farm and his family's existence. At that time it had not rained in Namibia for months, which was a catastrophe for the farmer's agriculture and livestock farming. The couple lives with their two children Leon (3) and Alina (1) on a spacious farm in Namibia that Gerald took over from his parents. Even a new borehole did not provide enough water.

A few months earlier, deliberate arson had also paralyzed the farm. In order to ensure the continued existence of the farm, the couple had to take out a loan. Anna regularly kept her social media followers up to date with all the updates. Anna received a lot of positive feedback for her honesty and the fact that she sometimes shows the dark side of life as an emigrant.

Now she used her reach again to draw attention to a sensitive topic among her current 231,000 Instagram followers. A post online brought back memories of a bad experience for the 33-year-old. She actually wanted to put the topic aside: “It almost worked until I saw a post a week ago.”

“Farmer is looking for a wife” participant remembers a bad experience

In it, someone asked, “Why do men always have to sit next to a woman on public transport?” – an idea that reminded Anna of a scene on a bus in Essen. She was 24 years old and on the way to her internship at the time. It was a hot summer day, she was wearing shorts and sitting by the window. She remembers a man, probably in his mid-40s, sitting down next to her. When she suddenly felt his sweaty hand on her thigh, she was paralyzed. “My heart was beating like crazy. To this day I feel this disgust and hear his breathing when I think about it,” reports the 33-year-old.

He blocked her escape route, and in shock she endured the abusive touching until the man simply left the bus at a stop. She could remember it for years, but a feeling of shame remained. She felt guilty because she wore shorts and because she didn't defend herself. She was disappointed in herself and that's why she didn't tell anyone. Until now.

After a few years, she was able to open up to her husband Gerald about the story. He took her in his arms and told her an important, liberating sentence: “It’s not your fault.” She would also like to convey this message to all other victims who have experienced similar things.

Looking back on the last season of “Bauer sucht Frau”, viewers just learned how a participant fell in love with his competitor’s wife.
