In the small room of the Nanterre criminal court (Hauts-de-Seine), the lawyers huddle together on the benches of the civil parties. There are 40 of them in this file. In the public, other victims appeared at the hearing, without lawyers. All have lost more or less significant sums while thinking of investing in diamonds with exponential returns, between 5 and 10%.
They actually bought not-so-precious stones, at a cost significantly higher than the purchase price. The prosecutor requested two years in prison, including one year suspended on probation. The judgment was reserved.
