There is also a baby girl just a few months old among the passengers injured in an accident in Rome which involved a Rome Tpl vehicle and an Atac vehicle. According to initial reconstructions, a Roma TPL bus (line 998) hit an Atac vehicle (line 913) and then ended up on a sidewalk.
Some passengers were apparently injured in the collision: a couple on the Atac bus, and five on the Roma Tpl bus, including the little girl of a few months who arrived at the hospital in code red. It seems that the driver of the Roma Tpl, for reasons yet to be ascertained, lost control of the vehicle. The crash occurred in via Cesare Castiglioni, near the Monte Mario terminus.
About ten people, in addition to the seven injured, were injured in the impact. The newborn in red code is just two months old but her condition is not serious: the little girl is hospitalized at the Gemelli Polyclinic. Three other passengers are in code red, one is hospitalized at Cristo Re and another at San Filippo Neri. The municipal police, who are in charge of the investigations, will subject the bus drivers to drug and alcohol tests.
"I am following with apprehension the accident in Monte Mario which involved an Atac vehicle, two Roma Tpl vehicles and two private vehicles. While waiting to understand the dynamics of the accident, I want to express my closeness and that of the city to the injured and to the people involved." Thus in a note the mayor of Rome
Roberto Gualtieri.
