The earth shook around the US metropolis of New York. There have been no reports of damage so far.

New York - There has been an earthquake in the region around the metropolis of New York. According to the responsible US authorities, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.8 and occurred at a depth of 4.7 kilometers. The epicenter was in the US state of New Jersey, about 65 kilometers from New York. In Manhattan, the quake was felt as a slight rumble.

There were initially no reports of damage. New York Mayor Eric Adams was informed about the events, according to local media reports. dpa
