Summary.

On February 24, as the Agricultural Show opened its doors in Paris, an agricultural union, the Confédération Paysanne, organized a coup targeting the French industrial giant Lactalis. In the midst of a crisis in the agricultural world, demonstrators dump manure on the group's stand, present in the aisles of the exhibition center, Porte de Versailles. The objective: to denounce the practices of the giant of the dairy industry and demand better remuneration for breeders.

This is not the first time that Lactalis has found itself singled out. For several years, this multinational has regularly been accused of charging prices that are too low, to the detriment of dairy farmers. She has also been convicted several times for polluting rivers near her factories and, today, she is suspected of tax evasion. As part of this investigation, on February 6, 2024, the Lactalis headquarters was searched.

For Code source, Gwenael Bourdon, journalist in the economics department of Le Parisien, tells how a small dairy created in 1933 in Laval in Mayenne became the world number one in dairy products, while attracting numerous criticisms.
