Gunshots rang out again on the Duchère plateau. Two years after the series of shootings, which notably cost the life of a 16-year-old teenager in the spring of 2022, two young men were shot and injured Thursday evening, in the 9th arrondissement, according to information from

by several police sources. Aged 17 and 18, the victims were hit in the legs while they were at Place de l'Abbé Pierre, in front of the Stéphane Diagana hall. Their lives would not be in danger.
The perpetrators of the shots are on the run and actively sought, a source close to the case confirms to Le
Figaro
, while an investigation has been opened by the Lyon public prosecutor's office. The prefecture announces a major police reinforcement system, with the deployment of the CRS 83, specialized in maintaining anti-riot order. She was dispatched to Rillieux-la-Pape at the start of the week after a bus was set on fire by around ten individuals. A “clear space” operation is also underway in the Valmy district, still in the 9th arrondissement, units could quickly be moved to Duchère if necessary.
Important location for drug trafficking
This sector classified under city policy is known as an important location for drug trafficking in the Lyon metropolitan area. The possibility of settling scores is also being considered regarding this Thursday's shooting, the shots in the legs usually serving as a last warning in the community. The two victims are unfavorably known to the police.
