At the Federal General Assembly of the Bavarian Mountain Rifle Companies in Rottach-Egern, Martin Haberfellner from Kochel was confirmed in office as state governor. Recorder Tobias Riesch also continues his voluntary work.
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - In his annual report, Martin Haberfellner reviewed some outstanding events, such as taking part in the funeral ceremonies for the late Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. in January 2023 in Rome. A number of state-representative and social tasks were also carried out, such as participation in the wedding of Prince Ludwig of Bavaria, the 90th birthday of Duke Franz of Bavaria, the protocol reception of the Chinese Prime Minister and the 70th birthday of Cardinal Reinhard Marx.
Looking forward to the new center in the Benediktbeuern monastery
Haberfellner emphasized that the act of founding the “Centre of Mountain Riflemen in Bavaria” was particularly positive. As is well known, it will be located in the Benediktbeuern monastery and is scheduled to be inaugurated in 2025. Julia Mattern, research assistant at the new center, spoke about her work at the Federal General Assembly. She asked for support in inspecting the company's own documents and for exhibits to be provided. In the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district there are 13 mountain rifle companies with around 2,000 active members.

Bichl: Rudi Kramer follows Markus Geißler
At the meeting, Haberfellner's deputy Hans Baur resigned from his position after 30 years in the state administration. Gauhauptmann Hans Rucker from the Inn-Chiemgau area was elected as his successor. Adjutant Robert Stumbaum also did not stand for election; his successor is Michael Beck. After Hans Baur, the editor for the Bavarian part of the Tiroler Schützenzeitung is now Wolfgang Poschenrieder from Ohlstadt. Markus Geißler, captain of the Bichl mountain rifle company, also resigned from his position. Haberfellner thanked him with an honorary mug. Geißler's successor is Rudi Kramer.
Patron Day 2024 in Lenggries
At the meeting, Kaspar Reiser, captain from Lenggries, provided detailed information about the status of the preparations and the process of the patron day on May 5th in Lenggries. The mountain riflemen have other dates in their calendar: the Alpine region meeting will take place in Garmisch on June 25th and 25th, and the traditional costume parade for the Oktoberfest is on September 22nd. The federal shooting competition will take place from September 27th to 29th this year. The Partenkirchen company is organizing the Advent singing on December 8th.

Some dates for 2025 have already been set. As reported, the patron day of the mountain riflemen will take place again in Benediktbeuern. It was also announced that the company from Königsdorf had been awarded the contract for the Advent singing.
