Kiev – Russia claims to have achieved another success in its war of aggression against Ukraine. The Defense Ministry in Moscow announced on Friday (April 5) the capture of the village of Vodyanoye in the Donetsk region, reports state news agency

The village is located not far west of Avdiivka, which Russian troops captured in February after months of fighting with extremely high losses. Russia's army is now said to have "penetrated further deep into the enemy's defenses" and gained an advantageous position, the ministry said. Some military bloggers had already reported at the end of March that a Russian flag had been raised in the village. There were no reports from Kiev on Friday afternoon.
