It will be limited to 999 pieces, and accessible by random draw. Half will be offered to the MB&F Tribe (recognized collectors of MB&f coins) and Friends. The rest will be available to the general public via an online drawing system. The leather straps are embroidered with the name of the creation, “Time to Love”

The famous French artist and designer, with Maximilian Büsser, imagined a MAD1 watch featuring his three favorite colors.

We all have something of Castelbajac. A coat, a drawing of an angel, a scarf, even a t-shirt dating from the WYD in Paris (that year, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac even designed the chasuble of Pope John Paul II and his entourage during the World Youth Day 1997!). In 2024, it is with a pope of independent watchmaking, Maximilian Büsser, another creator with a child's heart, that the famous French artist and designer collaborated to put a little love on our wrists. Which is anything but luxury in these times...

From now on, Castelbajac's favorite watch will never be the same. Usually, he cherished his Cartier Tank, or the Swatch merging his three signature colors: red for passion, blue for hope and yellow for human warmth.

“My relationship with time is special,

” he confides.

I am often “before or after time”: before when it comes to vision, after when it comes to satisfaction. But when it comes to love, I’m always on time.”

From now on, you will come across this young man of 74 years old with a MAD1 Time to love, consigned with MADEditions, a brand offering beautiful watchmaking creations at reasonable prices to fans and friends of Maximilian Büsser, the dreamer of time.

Since the 1980s, JCDC's avant-garde pop creations, characterized by primary colors, have left their mark on the world of fashion and art. Just like his collaborations with artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Robert Mapplethorpe and Cindy Sherman. In these connected times, it was simply via a private message on Instagram that Maximilian Büsser came into contact with the always connected JCDC. Result of this meeting: not an MB&F Horological Machine, but a MAD1 Time to Love, obviously red, blue and yellow.

Here, the base of the dial features a quote from the artist:

“This rare and precious treasure is your life. Time flies on its white wings. You are the guardian of your time. »

On the hour and minute rings, the numbers are written in his hand and, on the crown, an engraving represents an angel speaking to the moon, a recurring theme in his artistic creations. The leather straps are embroidered with the name of the creation,

“Time to Love”,

and two copies, one black and one white, are supplied with each watch.

This is a double first for MADEditions: its first Limited Edition, and its first collaboration with an external creator. This MAD1 “Time to Love” will be limited to 999 pieces, and accessible by random draw. Its sale price is 3200 CHF + VAT. Half will be offered to the MB&F Tribe (recognized collectors of MB&F coins) and Friends (suppliers) on a first-come, first-served basis. The rest will be offered to the general public via an online drawing system. What's more democratic than chance, after all?
