New York
City
has had an exclusive sex club for more than six years. It is known as the
New Society
For Wellness and, according to its leaders, it is based on “safe, non-judgmental explorations of pleasure and medicinal plants,” since marijuana use
is
legal there.
.
Daniel Saynt
, founder and CEO of NSFW, told
Clarín
that it was launched in 2017 in response to a lack in the “Big Apple.” “Something was missing in the market for ethical non-monogamy and party environments. “Nightclubs seemed unsafe, sex clubs seemed seedy and dangerous, and many were looking for places that didn’t feel rigid when experiencing adult play.”
But not everyone can be a member of the club where
sexual positivity
is the protagonist. To be accepted, applicants are evaluated on multiple points of attraction, relationship skills, life experiences and creative endeavors.
The selection process, they maintained from there, is to make sure they connect with “the people who best fit into our community.” All
memberships are limited
and start at $300. Each event, meanwhile, ranges between $50 and $180. Additionally, they offer more than 100 uncensored chat channels for their customers.
Those who manage to pass this evaluation, they stated, are “leaders of the sexual revolution, artists, creators and some recognized personalities” and their average age is 28 years.
Saynt explained that while anyone can apply, approval is up to club members. In this context, he added that it helps a lot to know a partner beforehand. The next step to the request is to attend an educational seminar where consent, communication and navigation of each space (virtual and physical) are emphasized. Finally, you access different membership levels, which offer different advantages and benefits.
Neither dirty nor immoral
Private parties, workshops led by industry experts
and the possibility of connecting with thousands of people with the same goals are part of the New Society For Wellness proposals.

“Our mission is to spread positive messages about pleasure and help people prioritize it in their lives. When you have people around you who
do not see your desires as dirty or immoral,
you can safely explore and reach new levels of intimacy and connection,” highlighted Daniel Saynt.
Currently the NSFW Clubhouse is a huge loft located in New York's SoHo, where parties are usually held. However, events are also held in other locations within that same city, as well as in others in the United States, where the firm is expanding.
Meanwhile, the idea is to cross local borders: “We plan partnerships with cities in other countries to bring our experience to more people,” said the CEO.

In addition to the parties, the New Society for Wellbeing offers workshops that include
BDSM, Tantra, Shibari, massages, erotic dances and even instruction in oral and anal sex
. For this they hire artists, therapists, sex educators, doctors, professional dominatrixes and yogis.
“One of the main goals of The New Society is to make these interests accessible and safe for those who may be new, to provide safe and sensible advice on how to explore things that many only see in
pornography, which is more entertainment than education
” Daniel stated.
Rules, privacy and consent
“The main rule is not to be a sinister,” Daniel highlighted as if to banish the prejudice of “anything goes.” “This is a space of abundance and not scarcity, so we try to encourage people not to behave desperately while ignoring the autonomy of members,” he added.
“We ask members to respect everyone's privacy and practice consent," Saynt said. Photo: Nico Kiray (koorah).
Another rule requires being cautious and measured with the intake of alcoholic beverages, as well as discretion with all participants in parties and events. “We ask members to respect everyone's
privacy
and practice enthusiastic consent, which is getting an explicit yes when initiating any type of contact. Asking before assuming is a fundamental principle for us,” explained the founder.
In terms of privacy, being a platform with membership, only members see each other, both in online and physical spaces. Sharing information about other participants has such strict rules that violating them can even lead to expulsion.
Regarding the dress code, NSFW encourages its participants to wear black. For special occasions such as
theme parties
, however, it is requested that they go in costume. There are events with religious themes, celebrations of Bacchus (God of wine and festivals in Roman mythology) and others with kinky themes, where clothing and/or leather accessories are required.
The New Society for Well-being is part of the so-called sexual positivism, a movement that aims for a sexuality where joy and enjoyment replace shame and taboos, with consent as an irreplaceable starting point.
