The reasons for his action still remain unknown. A 70-year-old man set himself on fire Thursday evening in front of the Toulouse courthouse, Haute-Garonne firefighters reported in a press release on Friday. He was hospitalized “as an absolute emergency” after being taken care of, they said.
The fire “was quickly extinguished by the security personnel of the judicial establishment,” the same source said. The tragedy took place right in the middle of the historic center of Toulouse, Allée Jules-Guesde. The reasons for his action are currently unknown.
The septuagenarian “was transported to the Rangueil hospital center for medical treatment in an absolute emergency”, in the south of the city, the firefighters also underlined, without giving further details.
