The prices in the ice cream parlors develop at different speeds. Another change is much bigger: The Roma in Wolfratshausen has a new operator.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – The meteorologists are predicting pure sunshine for this weekend. Temperatures are expected to climb to just under 30 degrees in many places. A good opportunity to treat yourself to a scoop or two of ice cream to cool off.

Ice cream creations with basil and chocolate pieces: Lausbua ice cream from Dietramszell

Stephanie Laus (46) from Dietramszell came rather unplanned to make the cold delicacy. A few years ago she started processing fruit from her own garden. “And because my boys were always hungry for ice cream, I started making it myself with a small ice cream maker.” The device has now become several sizes larger and more professional. Laus turned his hobby into a profession and today sells ten different flavors under the name “Lausbua-Eis”, made from regional raw materials. In addition to classics like bourbon-vanilla and hazelnut, there are unusual combinations like strawberry-basil. “The 'Lausmadl ice cream', a creation made from yoghurt, strawberries and chocolate pieces, is particularly popular at the moment,” reports the Dietramszell native. The ice cream is available, among other places, in the middle of Dietramszell in the ice cream parlor of the same name at Richteranger 2. The scoop including the waffle costs 1.60 euros.

Geretsried: Ice cream costs less than two euros - cookies and Paw Patrol are popular

Daniele Braito from the Rialto on Egerlandstrasse in Geretsried also charges this price per ball. It offers 18 different flavors. His customers primarily rely on the classics. “Stracciatella, melon and – for the kids – cookies.”

Maria Faulisi from the L'Arena in Geretsried can confirm that the latter is a hit with the little ones. “And Paw Patrol – a blue ice cream with Smarties.” Adult tastes cannot necessarily be determined. “We keep changing our varieties – and each one is tried.” But one thing is an absolute must: “the nut ice cream,” says Faulisi. The reason is obvious: “It’s my husband’s and mine’s favorite ice cream.” Her husband Giovanni Franco laughs. He is currently standing at the ice cream machine and filling the finished strawberry ice cream. Every day the cold delicacies - they cost 1.70 euros per scoop - are made in-house in the L'Arena's utility rooms. “How much we do depends on the weather, of course – on a hot summer Sunday it can be 150 to 200 kilograms. You just have to start around 6 o’clock.”

Cristallo in Wolfratshausen: “People like to try something new”

When the weather is great, colleague Maurizio Faganello from the Cristallo ice cream parlor in Wolfratshausen is also an early riser. It also makes daily production dependent on temperatures. And: “After 35 years of experience, you simply develop a feeling for which types of ice cream are particularly popular.” He offers his guests a choice of 24 different flavors for 1.70 euros per scoop. In addition to the classics, the family business, which was founded on Obermarkt in 1989, also offers lemon cake ice cream, poppy seed marzipan and caramel peanuts. “People like to try something new.” Nevertheless: “Caramellissimo, yoghurt-elderberry or mango-blood orange are at the top of the popularity scale.”

Ice weather: blueberries in the chocolate streusel waffle

Mirko Sonego also observes that ice cream lovers are keen to experiment a few meters away in the Paletti ice cream factory on Schwankl-Eck. “Blueberries or oranges with avocado are just as popular as the usual classics.” Sonego is always developing new recipes – like Cotto di Fici, an ice cream with figs, which, however, have to be cooked for hours beforehand. “I was just in Calabria in January at a special fig factory.” And who is the first test eater? Sonego grins. “Well, of course I do.” He sells the ball for 1.90 euros. The customer also has the choice of whether they want it in a normal waffle (included) or a chocolate crumble waffle (50 cents). “If you don’t want a paper cup, you can switch to a waffle cup for 30 cents.” An alternative that many customers prefer in terms of sustainability.

Traditional ice cream parlor has new owner: Roma in Wolfratshausen in new hands

Walter Reolon is new, but in an ice cream parlor with tradition. He took over the ice cream parlor Roma on Schießstättstrasse in Wolfratshausen from the Bernard family after 46 years. “We knew each other from Italy and only lived four kilometers apart,” says the new operator. Reolon has a lot of experience in ice cream production from his mother's side and has already run several ice cream parlors. “Now we have come to Bavaria via North Rhine-Westphalia.”

28 varieties are offered at Roma, including Foresta Nera (Black Forest cherry), Cannolo (butter biscuit) and Peccato (yoghurt with almonds and chocolate). The price of 1.50 euros per scoop with waffle has remained. Reolon says he “simply adopted that” from his predecessor.

According to information from our newspaper, the latter has moved back to his home country of Italy. Nothing more could be learned from Ralph Bernhard despite repeated attempts to contact him.
