The new season of “Daughter-in-Law Wanted” didn’t get off to a good start on TV. After just four episodes, RTL is throwing the dating show out of the program.
Cologne – In the past, the RTL dating format “Daughter-in-Law Wanted” repeatedly caused scandals – but that should finally come to an end in the 15th season. Vera Int-Veen (56) was replaced by presenter Angela Finger-Erben (44) and she promised not to “show off” the show participants. But both the evening show and the new presenter are not well received by viewers - now RTL is drawing the consequences.
First season with Angela Finger-Erben: “Daughter-in-law wanted” in low ratings
Angela Finger-Erben already had to take a lot of criticism in the opening episode of “Daughter-in-Law Wanted”: “Oh God, 'Daughter-in-Law Wanted' is about to start with Angela Finger-Erben. “But RTL really has to screw everything up,” commented a disappointed viewer on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) or “RTL also has to save money.”

And a look at the ratings reveals: things are not going well for the once popular RTL program. On Easter Sunday (March 31st), the private broadcaster showed the fourth episode of the 15th season at 7:05 p.m. - with major losses in reach. Of the total audience (three years and older)

only 1.02 million people tuned in to RTL to follow the singles on their journey to get to know each other - half a million fewer viewers than the previous weeks, reports

“Daughter-in-law wanted” in the ratings cellar – RTL makes short work of it
RTL wasn't able to achieve much in the younger target group (14 to 49 year olds either): just 0.20 million people were interested in the latest episode of “Daughter-in-Law Wanted”. This gave the private broadcaster 6.7 percent market share, which no one in Cologne would be happy with. The show is now halfway through. The fifth episode was supposed to air next Sunday (April 7th), there are eight in total.

But that won't happen anymore, because now RTL is pulling the ripcord. A spokesman told IPPEN.MEDIA: “'Daughter-in-law wanted' is now no longer included in the linear RTL program. The remaining four episodes will be shown on RTL+. We will comment on the future of the format in due course.”

The audience criticism is not only directed against Angela Finger-Erben, but also against some of the candidates. “Daughter-in-law Wanted” fans were extremely shocked by a whipped cream scene.
